Staying at Kaladi si not necessary. Kaladi is at a distance of 20 km east from Alway and Angamalai rail station 10km Kochin or Alway from where ever you go to Kaladi within 4/5 hours visiting everything there you can return your own places by bus or motor boat as had reached there. It is heard that, in the middle of 9 th century attaming the age of superannuation Chermal Perumal the King of Malabar moved towards Makke leaving his kingdom. At the time of departure he distributed his own kingdom to his ministers and commanders. Then he also gifted to Jomorin Tamuri of Kolikot an area of land in all sides of the temple of Talli up to a cock’s crowing distance from the temple. At the end of the midival age a special quality of printed cloth made of India exported in the Europin Countries for sale by sailing ship. At that time the name of the port was kalikot. Then it was famous as a tourist centre and a industrial centre as well. Obtaining the landed property from the King of Kalikot the English constructed here their business centre.
