Nehru children Park : The children Park has been constructed in the middle of the town. There are various playing arrangements of the children. The artificial spring in the centre of the garden has developed much importance of the garden. The another attraction here is aquarium. Various species of sea fish consisting of various colour and shape, can be found here near by near and side by side Standing before the fishes not only the children but aged people also will be charmed.

It is heard that, in the middle of 9 th century attaming the age of superannuation Chermal Perumal the King of Malabar moved towards Makke leaving his kingdom. At the time of departure he distributed his own kingdom to his ministers and commanders. Then he also gifted to Jomorin Tamuri of Kolikot an area of land in all sides of the temple of Talli up to a cock’s crowing distance from the temple. At the end of the midival age a special quality of printed cloth made of India exported in the Europin Countries for sale by sailing ship. At that time the name of the port was kalikot. Then it was famous as a tourist centre and a industrial centre as well. Obtaining the landed property from the King of Kalikot the English constructed here their business centre.
