Bedakkunathan Temple : The temple is situated on a heap about 70 mts high and acquiring 3.5
hector area. Thire are 4 towngates on four sides of the temple. In the inner
apartment of the temple there can be found Badakkunathan phallic image of shiva
made of black stone. In one side of the phallic image of Shiva there is image
of Sri Ramchandra and the image of Sankarnarayan on the other. Local
inhabitants believe that Parashuram established the images and used to worship
daily. Later on his fallower devotees built the temple.
On the body of the Phallic image of
Shiva of Bedakkunothan Shiva temple an unbelievable matter is found. At the
time of worshiping the Phallic image the devotees, the ghee which gathered
round the image and made a 3 mts. Thickness layer. Most astonishing matter is
that the layer is increasing day by day instead of melting at the lightning of
the lamp or heat of the sun. On the body of the temple there engraved the
verses of the Mahabharata. The sculpture that are found on the walls both
inside and outside of the inner apartment of the temple is really marvelous.
In the month of April and may hear obscrved
puram festival gorgeously for a few days. Burning fire works is a main part of
the festival. Near the Bedakkunathan temple can be found the famous Krishna
temple and Bhagabati temple.
