Where to stay at Alway : No need of staying at Alway. Coming by train or bus and spending there 3/4 hours may return at Earnakulam before evening. Yet for interested persons there developed a few hotels and rest houses.

There is no expensive hotel at Alway. Among a few hotels there are notable Brindaban Tourist Home, Always Woodlands. Auroma Tourist Home. Alan Kar Tourist Home, Sri-sankarayyacharya new Guest House. Ramkrishna Adytta Ashram, Prince Hotel and The Tourist Banglo. All these are situated here and there of Alway town.

It is heard that, in the middle of 9 th century attaming the age of superannuation Chermal Perumal the King of Malabar moved towards Makke leaving his kingdom. At the time of departure he distributed his own kingdom to his ministers and commanders. Then he also gifted to Jomorin Tamuri of Kolikot an area of land in all sides of the temple of Talli up to a cock’s crowing distance from the temple. At the end of the midival age a special quality of printed cloth made of India exported in the Europin Countries for sale by sailing ship. At that time the name of the port was kalikot. Then it was famous as a tourist centre and a industrial centre as well. Obtaining the landed property from the King of Kalikot the English constructed here their business centre.
