How to travel Kochin : On the one hand Kochin is a famous port town and remarkable tourist centre on the other. It is not less important in respect of internal and external business also. So there developed the air, train and bus link from different parts of the country with Kochin.

Long days ago, possibly near about 1500AD. Partugal businessman Vasko-da-Gama came this port by sailing ship. With the permission of thethen government they started business here. In consideration of business of the western India Kochin is next to Mumbai. Its area is about 84sq.km. Main language is Malayam. Parier is largest river of Keral. Beside the dam of this river in the deep forest of Thekkadir sanctuary roaming by stem boat or speed boat is more charming than the traveling by jeep and the net covered conveyance. It is not at all wonder to face the tiger or leopard and the swinging movement of elephant. Also can be found huge bison, wild hog of Nilgiri, squirrel, Sambar, mouse deer and in the water be found huge tortoise.

The Parier lake is surrounded with green forest and consisting of huge valley. There the tourists can feel that they are moving in the dreaming heaven. Steamboat or Stem ship : There is no system to come directplace by steam boat or steam ship, shops, hotels and guest house everything of Thekkari sanctuary is at there. From there to go to the sanctuary at a distance arrangemat of seam boat or steam ship. How to travel Parier : There is no direct railway connection to come to Parier. From any part of India going up to Tirubantapuram. Where to stay at Kottyam : Kottyam is a land of agriculture. The place is not so developed in industry and not an important business centre. By Train : Kottyam is the name of both the town and the railway station. How to travel Kottyam : Kottyam is situated on the North east side of the town Aleppi and on the opposite of Vembanadu lake. It is a place of marvelous natural beauty. By road it is about 55km from Aleppi town. Those who will travel by steam boat they have to travel 33km. From Kochi it is 75 and from the town Kuilam it is 80km. Those who will go from Tirubantapuram by train they will have to travel 154km.

Snake boat : The river Pampa  flows down by the side of the Aleppi town. The snake boat race is being held in this river. The system of the race is same as above mentioned snake boat race. But the gathering there is more than this one due to the previous one held there more gorgeously and near by the town.

Nag Temple : At a distance of 3Km from Subrahamanna Swami temple and 35 km from Aleppli at Paiepad situated the famous Nag temple of Kanal. The temple is existing arounding more the 6 hector of land the image of the snake is also huge in size. The image of the snake is made of more than 4 thousand Granite Stone. So large image of snake could not be found in any where of India. Childless women praying child paid their homage to the image of Snake a bell which is made of a special type of metal called ‘Uruli’ It is heard from the local inhabitants that many women have got child as the blessing of the God. There held snake boat rac (Competition). In the competition many poisonous and large in snake get loose. The competititors have to take part in the competition taking those snakes on the boat. The snake repetedly rushed towards the competitors raising it’s expanded hood. The competitors have to control the snake and at the same time they have to steer the boat for gaining the prizes...

Srikrishna Temple : The temple is to be found at the village Amblapasa, at a distance of 13km away from Bhembanad Lake. Srikrishna Temple is considered as one of the among the 7 th famous temple of Tribankur. The name of the builder and the time of the construction is not known. Local inhabitants believe that God itself built it within a night. At the end of march a festival observe there for ten days and distribute ‘Paramanna’ among the devotees as the remaining of the God.

Subrahamanna Swami Temple : At a distance of 32km from Alappi town is situated at Haripada. Among the other subramanna temple the architectural and sculptural art of this temple is most attractive and oldest.

Bhembanad Lake : The natural beauty here is very charming. It is the largest lake of Keral. Created by back water sailing by boat is really pleasant. The fare of boat or steamboat is not much high

Temple of Goddess mullakal : It is astonishing temple. The temple has walls, artistic pillers but there is no roof or covering. By Boat : From Kochi Alappi may go by boat and return as well. Time takes more or less 7 hours. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday deluxe boat move towards Alappi from Kollam and return also. How to return from Ponemuri : There is no need of staying at Ponemuri. Spending there a few hours it is possible to return Tirubantapuram. Nine buses are moving up and down Tirubantapuram (Ponemuri) throughout the day. Those who start from Tirubantapuram towards Ponemuri by bus at 9.25 morning will reach Ponemuri on 11.30. Again they can return Tirubantapuram by bus on 4.00 afternoon and reaches at about 6.00pm.

How to travel Ponemuri :  By Bus : There is no train connection to go to Panmuri from Tirubantapuram town or from Oarkala. So you must have to avail bus. The express bus takes time about 2 hours from Tirubantapuram. Ponemuri also visit by conducted tour buses of Keral Development Corporation. Ponemuri : It is known as golden hill. It is situated at a distance of 60km north-east from Tirubantapuram town. The hill indicating the border of Tamilnadu and Kerol.

Aengengo : Aengengo is the holder and bearer of an old tradition. It has much importance as historical place. The East India Company made their business centre in that place of Malabar valley. These days also many people there earn their livelihood by business activities

Sarada Monastery : It is situated at Shibagiri at a distance from Oarkala sea beach. It is mainly the graveyard of Narayan Guru. A monostery has been built on the graveyard. Narayan Guru was a social reformer of Keral who has abandoned all. He used to live there with his followers and also breathed his last there. Narayan Guru used to teach his followers that, Men should follow the principle that, the race, the religion and the preceptor should be the same. Papnasham Water falls : The water of the falls is enriched with medicinal merit. A huge quantity of sulfar is in its water. So the local inhabitants and the tourists take their bath at Shibgiri at a distance.

Temple of  Sri Janardan Swami : The temple is surrounded with rows of coconut trees and on the top of the hill an exquisitely beautiful. It was built in the 1252 AD. It’s architectural and sculptural skillfulness is instant of an old one. On the sand stone of the temple the engraved work is praiseworthly undoubtedly. To the local people the four handed lord Krishna lying in the temple considered as alive. The image has conch, discus and lotous in hand.
