Nagaland is one of
the states of eastern India .
The administration of Nagaland is peculiar. A ministry consisting of five
members conducted it’s administration. Members of Legislative Assembly are
forty two. Though Kohima is the
capital of Nagaland but the highcourt is at Asam. Nagaland has no separate
Governor. The Governor of Assam supervise it. There is no such a system of
administration in other state of India . But the high court of
Pandicheri is at Tamilnadu.
Once upon a time the Nages were tyrannical and ferocious. At the end
of British rule also the Aonagas were violent. At that time there was a custom
of human sacrifice in Naga society.
In the year 1957 A.D. a separate state was formed Nagaland by name
taking the territory Naga hills of Assam and Tiensan of Nifa. At that
time it was under the ruling of President. After seven years on 1st
December of 1963 it acquired the fame as the other states of India .
The area of Nagaland
is 16527 sq.km. Capital is Kohima. Population is about 8 laks. “Inner line
permit” is required to enter the state crossing border of those who are not the
inhabitant of Nagaland. Main language is Nagamij. Other languages are the Hindi
and the English. Rainy season is May to September. Havy rainfall is on June to
August. Temparature is 29 to 15 degree cenigarade and in Summer and in winter
it is 5 to 11degree. Proper time of traveling is from 2nd week of
October and up to April. It’s average hight from sealevel is 2010m. the highest
hill is Naga. Traveling in winter required sufficient winter dresses. Dimapur
is the Bengalee inhabited town of Nagaland
