Dimapur by bus : It takes 2 hours 20 minutes by bus from Dimapur to Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland. From Dimapur the Govt. luxury and ordinary buses are departing every alternative hour from 6am and up to 4.30pm. Fare within Rs 50.00 to Rs 60.00 in respect of buses. From Guahati Paltanbazer bus stand Private deluxe luxury buses are departing on 8.00, 8.20 and 8.30 pm and reaches next day on 9.00, 9.20 and 9.30 am respectedly. From Imphal the NSTC bus departing on 6.45am and reaches at Kohima on 11.00am. The NSTC buses are departing on 6.10am and 7am, which reaches at Kohima on 10.30am and 11.15am respcetedly.

It is heard that, in the middle of 9 th century attaming the age of superannuation Chermal Perumal the King of Malabar moved towards Makke leaving his kingdom. At the time of departure he distributed his own kingdom to his ministers and commanders. Then he also gifted to Jomorin Tamuri of Kolikot an area of land in all sides of the temple of Talli up to a cock’s crowing distance from the temple. At the end of the midival age a special quality of printed cloth made of India exported in the Europin Countries for sale by sailing ship. At that time the name of the port was kalikot. Then it was famous as a tourist centre and a industrial centre as well. Obtaining the landed property from the King of Kalikot the English constructed here their business centre.
